Oxytocin

Oxytocin (Neuropeptide)

A naturally-occurring neuropeptide produced in the hypothalamus, central to social bonding, emotional regulation, trust, and stress resilience.

How it works

Oxytocin binds to receptors in the brain that reduce amygdala activity (the fear and stress center) while enhancing social reward circuits. It also modulates the HPA axis, lowering cortisol under social stress.

Benefits

  • Supports emotional wellbeing and social bonding
  • Reduces social anxiety and stress reactivity
  • Improves stress resilience and cortisol regulation
  • May support cardiovascular health through blood pressure modulation

Protocol

Intranasal, dosing under partner physician guidance. Used as needed or in scheduled protocols.

Frequently asked

Is this the same oxytocin used during childbirth?

Same molecule, different context. In clinical settings oxytocin is used intravenously at high doses to induce labor. The intranasal form prescribed through Oatide's partner network uses much lower doses aimed at emotional regulation and stress resilience, not obstetric induction.
